Standing Together at the Out of the Darkness Walk

We were so proud to see so many Santa Rosa Women for Good members come out this weekend to support The Zane Templin Foundation at the Out of the Darkness Walk, joining Team Zane in walking together to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention.

Suicide is often something that is difficult to talk about, yet it is an issue that touches so many lives in one way or another. Whether through personal experience, family, friends, or community, many of us have felt the impact of mental health struggles and loss. Events like the Out of the Darkness Walk create an important opportunity to come together, raise awareness, and remind one another that no one has to face those struggles alone.

The Out of the Darkness Walk supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, helping fund critical education, advocacy, research, and resources for those impacted by suicide and mental health challenges across the country.

This year marked a major milestone for the Zane Templin Foundation, which has participated in this event for 10 years and has now surpassed $200,000 raised for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention over the course of their involvement. This incredible achievement is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and relentless advocacy of everyone involved in Team Zane.

One of the most important messages often shared in conversations around suicide prevention and mental health is that community and connection matter. Feeling seen, supported, and surrounded by people who care can make an incredible difference in someone’s life.

Through the Zane Templin Foundation, founders Fran Templin and Tara Krug have created far more than a fundraising platform. They have built a space where people can come together in friendship, connection, and shared purpose. Their work not only raises funds that provide practical support to those who are struggling, but also fosters the kind of community that reminds people they are not alone.

Santa Rosa Women for Good is proud to stand alongside The Zane Templin Foundation in support of this important mission and grateful for the opportunity to walk in solidarity with so many others who believe in hope, healing, and the power of showing up for one another.

Because everyone deserves to know one simple truth: You matter.
