A Night of New Faces and Shared Purpose
Our April Happy Hour was a beautiful reminder of what makes Santa Rosa Women for Good so special: connection, generosity, and the power of women coming together to support our community.
Held at Wilibees in downtown Santa Rosa, the evening brought together a wonderful mix of longtime members and women attending their very first Women for Good event. The room was full of conversation, introductions, and the kind of energy that happens when people gather around shared purpose: making a positive impact in Sonoma County. Many women arrive at their first event feeling a little nervous or unsure, but one of the things we’re most proud of is hearing again and again that they quickly felt welcomed and left feeling like they are a part of something. That is what community looks like.
Our members are about to vote to award our Spring Grant and one of the highlights of the evening was hearing directly from the three incredible nonprofit finalists: Our Village Closet, The Zane Templin Foundation and Wiley’s Wish. Each organization shared a bit about their mission, the work they do in our community, and how this funding could make a meaningful difference in their work.
After hearing from each of these organizations, one theme kept coming up in conversations around the room: we wish we could fund all of them.
And honestly, we feel the same way.
Our community of women continues to grow, and the excitement and generosity we saw last night were inspiring. So many women shared that they want to do more, give more, and expand the impact we can have together.
The truth is, the more members we have contributing to our grant fund, the more money we can collectively give away. Every new member helps grow our ability to support the incredible nonprofits doing important work right here in our community.
Voting for our Spring Grant opens soon, and donating members will help decide which of these three organizations will receive our largest grant yet. But beyond this one grant, the bigger story is the growing community of women behind it who believe that when we come together, we can make a real difference.
And after a night like this, we’re more confident than ever that we can.
If you’d like to be part of future grants and help shape the impact we make together, we invite you to join us. The more women who pull up a seat at the table, the greater the good we can do.
