Volunteer Day: Leader Info
Thank you for volunteering to lead a group Volunteer Day! The Volunteer Day Leader is responsible for ensuring a smooth, organized, and positive experience for both our volunteers and the host organization. Responsibilities include:
Before the Event:
Arrive 5–10 minutes prior to the start of the event to greet volunteers and organize logistics.
Coordinate with the host organization ahead of time to confirm estimated number of volunteers and all event details (tasks, schedule, location, special instructions)
Determine if this event is open to non-members, men and/or children (if so, specify age).
Communicate finalized event details to the SR Women for Good leadership team to ensure information is updated and distributed to members
During the Event
Welcome and support SR Women for Good volunteers. If possible get sign in from everyone.
Serve as the point of contact between SR Women for Good volunteers and the host organization.
Capture photos of the event, including a group photo and any candid/action shots for social media and internal documentation
Track volunteer participation:
Record the total number of volunteers (including members and any others who have joined with our group)
Maintain a log of hours worked by each volunteer
After the Event
Ensure that any clean-up is completed and materials are removed from the site.
Send a brief summary to the SR Women for Good leadership team including:
Photos from the event
Copies of sign in sheet
Total volunteer count and hours logged
Any noteworthy observations or feedback from volunteers or the host organization
Send a thank-you follow-up to the host organization.
