Providing Hope for Animals: Dogwood Animal Rescue Project
We are proud to celebrate Dogwood Animal Rescue Project, the recipient of our Fall 2024 grant. Selected to receive $5,000 from our donating members, this local nonprofit is doing incredible work rescuing, rehabilitating, and supporting animals in need throughout Sonoma County and beyond. Their compassionate programs give animals a second chance at life while educating the community about responsible care and wellness.
Dogwood Animal Rescue Project is dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation, spay/neuter programs, wellness care, and community education. Every animal they serve benefits from hands-on care, medical support, and a loving environment where they can recover, thrive, and eventually find permanent homes. Beyond rescuing individual animals, Dogwood is empowering a powerful team of volunteers throughout the the community to make a difference fostering and providing low/no cost spay and neuter services, ensuring fewer animals experience neglect or abandonment in the future.
Among Santa Rosa Women for Good’s members, a few have previously adopted animals through Dogwood, and giving back to the organization that helped connect them with their furry companions made this grant especially meaningful for some.
What sets Dogwood apart is their holistic, community-focused approach. Volunteers work tirelessly to save animals in crisis, provide medical care, and guide adopters about responsible pet ownership. Their efforts create ripple effects: healthier pets, stronger communities, and countless lives touched by compassion and care.
