Common Ground: Creating Belonging

We are excited to shine a spotlight on Common Ground Society, the recipient of our Spring 2025 grant. This incredible organization is creating meaningful, lasting change right here in our community, and we couldn’t be more proud to support their mission.

Founded by two moms raising children with disabilities, Common Ground Society exists to create a more inclusive world—starting with connection, education, and advocacy. Their mission is simple, yet deeply impactful: to help individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered, while teaching others how to better include and celebrate people of all abilities and backgrounds.

From schools to hospitals to police departments, Common Ground Society provides engaging presentations that share personal stories, break down barriers, and build empathy. They are changing hearts and minds by giving people the tools to better understand and embrace differences.

Their Parent Advocacy Program equips families of children with disabilities with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for their children—both within the education system and beyond. This work is especially important as families navigate IEP meetings, medical care, and the many unknowns that come with raising a child with unique needs.

We were honored to celebrate this organization in person at our recent social mixer, where members of Common Ground Society’s team joined us for a fun and inspiring evening. Surrounded by members of our giving circle, we presented them with a $5,000 check in support of their mission. It was a meaningful reminder of the power of collective giving—and how a community can come together to amplify good work.

What stood out to our members when selecting this quarter’s recipient was not only the organization’s authenticity and passion, but also its ripple effect—creating stronger, kinder, more connected communities through education and empowerment.

We are proud to be a small part of their big vision, and we can’t wait to see how this funding helps them grow their reach and continue their incredible work.
